Trailer Inspection

Pennsylvania requires trailers with a gross weight of 3,000 lbs or greater to undergo an annual inspection. Miller Tire & Auto Co. is a PA trailer inspection station authorized to perform safety inspections on trailers with a gross weight up to 10,000 lbs. If you own a cargo or utility trailer that meets inspection requirements, contact us to schedule service. Pennsylvania Trailer Inspection Process

After verification of ownership, legality, and proof of purchase, the following components are inspected on your trailer:

    • Beneath Condition
      • Frame
      • Braking System

      A road test is required to test if the trailer is capable of stopping within the maximum stopping distance and verify that it does not swerve so much that any part leaves the 12 ft lane. Due to Miller Tire & Auto’s bay limitations, trailers can be no more than 10’ 9” high and 27’ long.
